If I'd known in advance how frustrating this gadget is, I would have just bought a tv! I bought this as I am not tech savvy and was told it was easy and painless to use. Ha! What a joke. Everytime I use it, I have to restart my phone. If I put it on pause while I do other things, it disconnects and I have to go through the process all over again. As for screen casting from my phone (I have neither a computer or tablet), there should be a way to "hide SMS while casting". I would not recommend this. Waste of $50 I see from all the other comments, Google hasn't responded. Go figure, typical multi-million dollar company

Keep in mind

I have to reboot my chrome cast every few days since it cannot find the device to cast too. Been using this chrome cast for years and have never had issues until just recently. It is connected to wifi because it says so on the TV, gives weather and changes pictures when on. However, no device can cast to it and on Google home it says there are no devices on the network. Extremely annoying when you try to watch TV and must reboot something that wastes about 10 minutes. Then you search online to find a fix and Google blames the router. If it was a router issue, it wouldn't work immediately after I reboot and reset it up. Please fix these issues. I am not the only one with them, I've read countless threads of users having the same problem.

The Chromecast media control is *terrible*. There's no way to seek forward or backwards by a fixed amount (like pretty much any other app); the only way to control position is a slider bar that is hopelessly broken. E.g. you pull it backwards by about 5 minutes, release your finger, and about 90% of the time it snaps right back to where it originally was. Very frustrating to use.

The lack of basic smart home products that the Google Home covers is staggering. I thought it would compare to the Amazon Echo, it doesn't. Its Amazon's poor cousin.
Optimised for S7 down but not current S8???? Sharing screen was optimised enough that previous version worked just fine. Why optimise it to remove sharing for S8 that worked? That is not optimising, that is just called stupid.... get a grip Google.
I was able to connect my Google home mini very easy. Only problem I want the Google assistant on my phone which is Android 7.0, but the app is still not available and I want to know why. Thanks for listening.
